3 killed by landslide in Kiambu county

Three girls were killed by a landslide in Magena area of Lari constituency in Kiambu county following heavy rains last night.
The landslide took place at midnight, rendering several families homeless. The area district commissioner Bernard Kinyua told Drive Hot that the remains of the 3 are currently in Uplands mortuary in Lari.
Kijabe Mission Hospital in the same county has also been cut-off from access after the road was blocked by a landslide resulting from heavy rains that visited the area last night.
Parts of Kijabe-Gichiengo road which links the area to Naivasha- Nairobi road have been covered by soil and trees uprooted by the landslide.
The area was inaccessible since 6am on Saturday with a number of other institutions such as Kijabe Technical Training Institute also affected.
The Mai Mahiu-Narok road was also reported to be under immense pressure from the ongoing rains.
