A married Roman Catholic priest who kept his wife a secret from the Church for 13 years was jailed for six months yesterday for sexually assaulting a teenage parishioner.
William Finnegan, 59, who must sign the sex offenders register for seven years, had arrived at Bradford Crown Court with his wife, Beverley Dawson. She sat sobbing in the gallery, alongside members of the priest’s former congregation of St Clare’s Church, Fagley, Bradford.
