Former Bishop of Rwenzori Diocese Yostus Kamanyire Amooti, 79, is dead.
According to Mr Peter Kamanyire, his youngest son, the cleric died at Nakasero Hospital yesterday morning.
Mr Kisembo Adolf, his adopted son, said Kamanyire
had been battling with high blood pressure. He suffered a stroke on
October 4 and ever since, his health had been deteriorating.
Kamanyire was admitted to Kabarole Hospital with
high blood pressure, but when the situation worsened, he was transported
to Kampala.
Ruptured vein
Mr Kisembo said the deceased suffered a ruptured vain on top of his skull which poured blood in his brain. “After two weeks the he started opening his eyes and could reorganise people, but he could not talk,” said Mr Kisembo.

On their way to Kampala, Kamanyire’ conditions worsened, leading to him being airlifted to Nsambya Hospital.
