Terrorists planning to attack country during Christmas - police

KAMPALA- Police have issued a new warning that terrorists are planning to attack security bases and installations in the country.
“Police have received information of plans by some terror groups to attack police stations and security installations in Kampala and other parts of the country, with the view of securing some weapons to be used to terrorise, cause panic and confusion during this festive season,” reads a statement from the police spokesperson, Ms Judith Nabakooba.
Measures
She said they will put in place measures such as heightened police security deployment, visible foot and motorised patrols and they control access to key places that are likely to be primary targets of the terrorists.
“We want to assure the public that we shall protect them before, during and after the festival season. We call upon everybody to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious person (s) or object (s) to the nearest police station/post, security personnel within the vicinity or LC official,” the police statement said.
