Sport,KIP-MOVING: Ugandan runner Stephen Kiprotich Posts His Best Ever Finish In A Major City Marathon.Drive Hot News

On Sunday, Olympic and World marathon champion Stephen Kiprotich improved on his performance in the New York Marathon, but could not hit his double target of a podium finish and setting a new national record.

Kiprotich crossed the Central Park finish-line in a time of two hours, 13 minutes and 25 seconds.  Kenyan Wilson Kipsang shrugged off stiff challenge from Ethiopian Lelisa Desisa to win the Men’s race on a time 2:10:59 .The win makes Kipsang the first man to win Berlin,London and New York in their career.
Desisa gave his all in the home-stretch and at one point overtook Kispsang who quickly composed himself and unlesahed new energy to outpace him.Ethiopia’s Gebre finished third. Geoffrey Mutai faded to sixth.
In the women’s race, 32-year old Mary Keitany clocked 2:25.07 to finish first with compatriot Jemima Sumgong second on  2:25:10 in a nother down-the-wire finish. Sara Moreira registered, 2:26:00 to finish third
