Mbabazi hands over office.Drive Hot News

Ex-Premier Amama Mbabazi on Monday handed over office to the new Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda 18 days after President Yoweri Museveni sacked him (Mbabazi) in a lone reshuffle which sparked off speculation of a potential fall out within the ruling NRM party. 
While handing over the office, Mr Mbabazi saluted the civil service for all the work they put in, adding that it's only fair to applaud and recognize them for their support.
“I also wish success to the new Prime Minister Nduggu Rugundu and thank His Excellency for giving me the opportunity to serve Uganda as the Prime Minister,” said Mr Mbabazi, adding that, "I will be available all the time to fill in any gaps not included in my comprehensive hand over report."
Earlier on, the Minister in charge of general duties in the office of the Prime Minister Prof Tarsis Kabwegyere described the occasion as a moment of 'history' and 'continuity' and applauded Mr Mbabazi for his tremendous contribution to the OPM
In his speech, Dr Rugunda also applauded Mr Amama for his meticulous work and support for the civil/public service and handing over the office after many years of service to Uganda.
"Ndugu Amama has set a very good example for the Office and for the country at large. He has been focused on the efficient running of Government to ensure synchronization and the office (OPM) be open and we will always welcome your advice,” Dr Rugunda said before adding that government will focus on
